Often stay longer in the country and really try to getto know the place. After many years of ignoring budget /backpacker traveller, the Australian tourism authorities have finally realised that becuase they stay longer than the average tourist, budget travellers have a lot to offer financially as well as in learning and becoming ambassadors for the country and its culture. Don't knock 'em! (Was one my self for 2 years a LONG time ago.)
