there are so many ways to eat it...

you have fried and done it batter....

or fried with no batter...

a traditional javanese dish is TEMPE BACEM... bascially the tempe is sort of marinated in kecap manis...and tastes yummo *drooling*

another one is tempe orek... its diced up... mixed with kecap (i think) and other spices.. and peanuts and even small ikan asin...salted fish... and its as a side dish...

and another is OSENG OSENG TEMPE... kinda stir fried again usually with beans, and served as a side dish...

apparently the most tempe in Indonesia is from MALANG in east Java where it was first processed in Indonesia...

isnt it fremented soya bean..and its left for several days...the more fremented the better apparently....

i love the stuff..
