I took my son's PS2 over last Nov, was told to have it done here in Aust. No warranty if something was to go wrong when we got it back to Aust. So we had it chipped here in Aust.
If you look up the archives, many people have had there's chipped in Bali.
I don't think it's much cheaper to have it done over there, get it done before you go then you can take it with you and use it to watch/ check the DVD's & play the games you buy.
