with our 3 kids and it was great. We had 2 rooms interconnecting right next tot he pool (ground floor). Personally would stay at hotel than cottages, mainly because the pool area is alot better for the kids, also the hotel will put on your own DVD's to play for your kids so you can watch them on your TV. The cottages is the sister hotel and you can eat, drink and swim in their pool also and you can charge to your hotel account. We would often go to the bar at the cottages for happy hour and you can access Legian Street from the hotel via the cottages.
They both are excellent but the Hotel seems to have more room for kids
