Garuda are not considered to be a particularly unsafe airline. One of the thrills about travelling to Indo with Garuda is that the holiday starts as soon as you get on the plane. The food, the people, the service, in my experience of flying with Garuda has always been fantastic with that touch of Indonesia about it. If you want to talk unsafe, have a look at how many Skywest planes have been delayed or rerouted because of mechanical issues since they started their Bali route.
