Yes, I know it's a booking site Mic - but when I phoned looking for the owner of the hotel (Ketut)the person on the phone indicated that's who I was talking to - very sleasy.
The driver who picked us up from the airport (from the booking co.)when we got to the hotel, wanted the money up front for the whole week ahead of time - before we even got out of the car. I got very suspicious when he wouldn't come into the hotel with us, and refused to pay until I saw the place and spoke with the owner. At that point the driver took off.
Ketut (the real one) explained that this company who produced his web site, makes changes to his web site and changes the prices without his authority - and he is very angry about it. He is unfortunately under contract with the company until Dec. - at which point he will be able to break free. They also owe him a lot of money. He showed us the huges stack of clients who stayed there that he has not yet been paid for.
They are a very nice family, and his place is just lovely. We enjoyed our stay there, but it's such a shame they are being taken advantage of, by this booking agent.
I mentioned to Ketut, that I would try and help, by letting people know what is going on. So remember, if you want to stay there be sure and book with the real owner Ketut Suartana - and he can be contacted at ketutplace@hotmail.com (not the email on the web site.)
