Returned last night after a week at the Febris Hotel. Almost 95% booked out with many Japanese and Tawainese staying there.
Great Rooms but as mentioned before on here, way to much concrete and limited shade for the pool area, in a word hot. Breakfasts were ok.
I was expecting doom and gloom in the streets but actually was surprised to see more tourists at some of the places we went to.
Frequented the Bali Hai beach sellers, very funny group down there on the beach and always get laughs thrown in with your purchases.
Bagus pub is still very good and the chicken satays for lunch hit the spot.
Went to S and S, very quiet down there.
Bali Mandira do the best spring rolls at the beach bar.
Bali Aussie Quiet.
Poppies pool was a good afternoon for all the people in Oz to see us on the net having a few Bintangs.
Stadiun was one place that was well down on numbers from my previous visits.
Went to Ulawatu where a big monkey scared me to death by trying to steal my cap.
Checked out the big 2 Hotels in Jimbaren-The Ritz and the Four Seasons.Amazing Hotels of pure luxury. These were heavily booked.
Tried to get my photos transfered to disk at a kodak shop before i left but somehow there was an error on the card and i have lost over half my images, not so good. The guy couldnt explain it.
Walking the streets you do see they are doing it tough and the taxi drivers often said they had not had a fare for 2 days etc.
Still had a great trip and will be venturing over again in March with the family.
cheers
