The Green Garden Hotel on Jl Kartika Plaza, that's if you can get in. It's popular, which says something, doesn't it? Comments currently on the Forum.
A few years ago, I was staying there for a few nights and met a young German guy in the Pantai Restaurant on the Tuban beachfront. He had his backpack with him and was looking tired and miserable. Apparently he'd arrived late the previous night, knowing nothing and no-one, and accepted the taxi driver's help to find a room. He'd had a hot, noisy, uncomfortable night and been overcharged too.
