Hi Jo,
The Bali Orchid garden is in Tohpati near Sanur off Jl Bypass (there's a kind of ring road thingie, all the taxis know where it is)We picked up a brochure from one of the tourist booths (outside Hardy's in Sanur). They have a website - baliorchidgardens.com
It's Rp50,000 per person for entry, and once you get in you can see where the money goes... the flowers are beautiful and there's a large variety of them in bloom at any time. It's a very peaceful way to spend an afternoon.
The orchid seedlings are packaged in a sealed glass bottle (the roots are in Agar jelly) You have to break the bottle to get the seedlings out, but it's pretty easy, and they're very reasonably priced.
An Australian man owns the place, if you spot him while you're there he has heaps of tips and all the info on what to do. You also get some information sheets with details on how to care for them when you get them home, and how to plant them out.
Good luck! I know we have OUR fingers crossed...
