Try the lane that runs between Poppies 1 and 2 - loads of very cheap restaurants with main courses under 10,000rp. Great value - probably the cheapest restaurants around Kuta way.
Bamboo corner on poppies 1 is excellent though, with main courses all under 15,000rp.
Also, I would recommend trying some of the nasi goreng and mie goreng cooked up on the stalls on Kuta beach - only 5,000rp for a main meal, and really tasty! I usually steer clear of the meat, in that heat, just in case.
