i have been to yogjarkarta 6 months ago right between the volicano and the earthquake. it is an easy flight to there from bali for around Rp600,000 return. i took a drive to jepara which was 5 hours and the road was good and clean and safe. it japara was a cut town with quaint feeling. yogjarkarta was a big city and fast but good shopping and we went to a great disco and the bourdour temple is not to be missed. go early in the morn for sunrise and to beat the tourist rush and all the kids that want to practice english on you!
