and most cabs these days use their meters without question. The old adage that the light blue "bluebird" cabs are the only ones to do this is not really accurate any more but certainly if you are worried then only the hail a "bluebird".
Not sure of the rough cost but I'm sure somebody will be. There is a complex one way system so it is quite likely that the outward and return trip will cost different amounts.
A good word in Bahasa Indonesia is "langsung" meaning direct so if you say "Langsung, Ya" with a big smile it looks like you know what you're doing!!!!
