This is not exactly about Bali but could be in the future. I have just read on etravelblackboard that Air NZ are now charging for every kilo over 20KG. Where staff would allow the odd kilo over to go through Air NZ have now introduced machines that weigh your luggage, show how much over you may be and also tell you how much extra you have to pay. $5 domestic, $10 across the Tasman and $35 for the long haul flights. Perhaps this will be the next thing that Garuda introduces. It would certainly make it a level playing field.
