What a shame re the increased fees - our bank wants a ridiculous $NZ8 per transaction so we took the advice of someone on this forum (thank you!) and got a westpac visa card as they don't charge any fees if your a/c is in credit - so we load up the card before we go and just withdraw as needed! The other benefit is that this is a stand alone card so even if it got into the wrong hands the only $ they could access would be our holiday money and not all our other bank a/cs!
