Changing Aussie to Rupiah

Tell your house mate that in no circumstances should he change Aussie cash into Rupiah anywhere else than in Bali (Indonesia). When leaving in August I compared the rate at Tullamarine (Currency exchange) s well as at a bank. The rate that was offered here was less than 6000 Rupiah per AUD$1 . In Bali we received 6800 to 6980 Rupiah per AUD$1. The Rate in Australia was 15% less tahn what we got in Bali, so if you take $1000 Aussie you would have lost AUD$150 - not very smart eh. In the last few days the rate in Bali was close to RP7000 for an AUD$1

This applies to almost every country in the world and I always change my money at the destination.
