I would think that you could still book your return flight (that way you don't have to worry about changing flights while you are there) for the amount of time you want to stay in Bali and just book the 4 nights accommodation with the hotel, and just say when booking that you are going to book the other nights accommodation elsewhere while you are there. You could simply say after the 4 nights that you have enjoyed your stay so much that you want to stay longer. The only problem is that if the hotel is booked out, you will have to find somewhere else to stay. I don't know whether the hotel will do a good deal or not, but if you are wanting to be sneaky, that might be the way to go.
I would just prefer to book it and be done with it and not worry about a few dollars that you might save. We have just booked our 11/5 night holiday in March staying at the Puri Raja with Nicki off the Forum and are very happy with the price! Would recommend her to anyone, very reliable, quick to reply to any questions you have and had the best prices!!
