Have a meal at Kalimantan restaurant in Jl Pantai Sindhu and have a drink and a chat with the owner, Bob, who is from the US. Don't know what he thinks about your president, but I'd be surprised if he's a great fan. This is probably a daytime thing.
And I agree with others that the Cat and Fiddle is a very friendly night out.
