Well, it's hard to believe that we have been in Bali for 5 days & we haven't had time to scratch ourselves. Can all you Bali adicts, believe we have been in Bali this long and not yet had a massage?
Especially after the mountain goat track @ Dreamland. Well, the day has come, no family outings, no ceremonies, & the serong can go away until Saturday.
Today is going to be a day of rest(I think). Usual start, off to the beach @ day break to watch the sunrise. We stroll through the vacant land, say good morning to the cows ( you can check them out in our photos). They are becoming quite accustomed to us, we are now able to pat them. Crazy, you may think, but we get quite a thrill, gaining the trust of any animal.
We continue our walk along the beach to the other end of Sanur.
We have decided to call in and have breakfast @ Coridor Resteraunt and say hello to Jack. I have been hanging out for one of his great breakfasts since we arrived. The welcome was as warm as it was last year & the food as good as I remembered. Well worth the walk. Tummy now full, it's time for a little pampering. Because of all my aching joints, I would usually have a Traditional Balinese massage on Sindhu beach, with an old guy we call "Drakula". Everyone seems to know him by this name. Last year he started getting a little greedy & charged twice the going rate, so I looked elsewhere. By chance, while heading for the Aussie Sports Bar in Jl.Panti Sindhu, we found Mothers of Mercy Massage Salon. The name of the place put me off, as I am not a religious person. But Mrs. (she who must be obeyed) said to give them a try. In we go, Yes WE, SHE who must be obeyed, thought she deserved a massage too. Now, I don't want to upset all you ladies reading this, but you will get a smile from the result. It was the best massage I have ever had. Even better than old Drakula, who I have been seeing for the past 4 years. Private cubicle, no sand, soft relaxing music and rest time after the massage. By Geez I hate it when she is right.
Now that I have a spring in the step again, well, let's say feeling much better, I suggest a trip to Ubud. We haven't been there for a couple of years. Be nice to see the monkeys again, as I look at the Mrs. with a grin. We phone Mudita, our driver from previous years. He picks us up within 15 minutes. To the Monkey Forrest we go. It really is a beautiful walk through the gardens.
Did I mention that Mrs. has brought along a little mascot this year. It is a silly little quacking duck. It is actually the booby prize at Ladies Golf @ the Club back home. Mrs. has a good sense of humour, told the ladies she would bring back some happy snaps of Duck in Bali.
I'll give her Duck in Bali (Mrs. embaresses me too often). She didn't know I brought along my grandsons little Dog. Check the photos in the next couple of days to see the antics of Duck & Dog.
Mrs. is silly enough to bring Duck to the Monkey Forrest. Being a nice yellow colour, the monkeys think it is a banana. Duck was abducted twice by the monkeys. Caused quite a side show for the patrons. Can you just emagine her, chasing a monkey to get back this silly little quacker. Relieved to have Duck back, she puts it in her pocket, sits on the wall to have a ciggie. Next thing she knows, she has a monkey next to her with its teeth embedded at her hip.

I thought today was going to be a relaxing day, I haven't laughed so much in years. After the Monkey Forrest we do a quick run through the Art Market in Ubud. Really should have had more time there. Bought a few things. Again, because business was slow, they were asking much higher prices. Best price is always Walk away price.
Still not feeling like dinner, we pick up a late lunch/early dinner @ KFC. Mrs. does like her chicken. Back to Ritas for a Bintang & a good book.
