I brought several knives back in September - didn't think of them as "weapons" so didn't declare them initially. But then in the queue I was asked by a roving Customs person if I had knives, so I said yes, sorry. They then saw them in the x-ray of my baggage - no problems - just said to be sure to declare them next time. Declare it/them & no worries:) In previous years I have brought back axes, swords, krises etc in luggage without declaring them but no x-rays in those days.
