This was in the Melbourne newspaper yesterday 05/11/06 Flights with Singapore Airlines, from Melbourne to Bali via Singapore $AUD 923 valid 16/01/07- 31/03/07. If your allowed to purchase that flight fom NZ perhaps you can grab a cheap flight to MEL to connect.
Or you could purchase a Jetstar direct to Bali from Melbourne. That would be even cheaper.
