Day one is over now, after a poor nights sleep, due to I suppose, the excitement of being back in Bali, thoughts of the previous days events
or just catching up with our Bali families & friends. Our brains were working overtime. Sunday morning,we were up & waiting for the sunrise for nearly an hour before the event. We just sat quietly on the beach, watching daylight creeping into view. As daylight crept in, we could see the shape of the breakwalls appearing with the beautiful shape of the Balinese pergolas sitting on the wall. The occasional walker on the beach with puppy walking beside his master. What a beautiful quiet way to start another day.
Our plans for the day was to take our Balinese family to the zoo.
We wanted to do something special for them. We thought hard and came to the conclusion that not many Balinese would have seen the zoo. This is a family outing that we here in Aus. take forgranted. It is just something we do when our kids are little. Well, you should have seen the look on the faces of Kuala & Arya (our balinese daughter & son inlaw). They have a 4 year old boy & a 9 month old little girl.
The thrill on their faces, it was just like taking 4 kids to the zoo. They were just so facinated with all the animals & birds. We had a Boa consticter hanging over the shoulder, chatted to a cockatoo, patted a python & talked to a tookan, then off to see all the other animals.
We thought is was great that when we went to pay the entry fee, we were not charged for our Balinese family.
After all the sights had been seen, it was time for lunch. There is a great resteraunt at the zoo.
Typical grand parents, the time has come where the little ones are getting very tired, so we say it is time to go home.
Not that we were tired, but the kids did need a nap.
Back home to Ritas we go. As soon as our family left, off we go again.
We love our walk on the beautifully paved walkway along the beach.
Late afternoon in Sanur walking along the beach, is one of our must do's. We hassel the stall holders as they all know us by now. Mrs offers to sell the stall holders her serongs. Mrs. also offers to do a massage or manicure before they even get the chance to ask.
We call in to see Harry & Shrek at the DVD stall. We were very honored when we were invited to a purification ceremony for Shreks father. This was to take place on Tuesday morning. Our calender is filling up very quickly. Thank God we are in Bali for an extra week this year, as we have quite a few things of our own on the agender.
We still have the 2 suitcases of clothing to distribute. Oh well maybe tomorrow we will get started on that project. We have already seen quite a few expectant faces as they know we do this every year.
One girl in particular has said to the Mrs. "you remember me? I am size 10". This is a change from "you remember my shop no.!!!" Oh we do have a giggle at this one.
Ok, enough of the chat for now. I have uploaded some photos. hopefully I have done it right. Go to www.fotothing.com/balicharles/
We have pics of our zoo trip with 4 kids (ha ha)
See you all with the next installment.
