Just to add to that, this year I bought an Ibanez SDG205 5 string bass with flame maple top for $329AUD. These are only available in Australia in black for $555. So considerable saving and much nicer looking.
I have visited ALL the shops (professional and amature) in Denpasar and have a good insight now if anyone is interested.
I must do a JBR soon.
