You may be able to hire something from one of the locals but as far as I know there is nothing formally set up for hiring boards. Where we stay at Puri Nusa one of the staff used to hire out a board they had but not a longboard. You may strike lucky though, you would need to let one of the local scammers know and they could probably find one for you.

In April the surf is smaller than around June/July but great for the kids, most days around 4 to 5 foot. One year we had a couple of days rain and very high humidity but not this year, just warm and sunny every day. Shipwrecks is probably the most consistent at that time of year but you can still surf Playgrounds and Lacerations. Can get quite crowded though and best to surf before school finishes as all the groms are so fast they take all the waves.

We are leaving again on the 31st December and are going to give Sumbawa a try, Hu'us- Lakey Peak, a friend has just got back and says it like Lembongan before the resorts hit. Will also pay a visit to lembongan but don't think the surf will be very good at that time of year, will just visit to catch up on everyone we know. Counting down the days.
