Just returned from the ubud village hotel for th 4th time. It's really nice, afordable and the rooms are lovely with open air bathrooms and sunken bath. Ask for a free upgrade to the deluxe villas and if they are available they will. If you can speak with Gus Oka or Yani they will be able to help you and make sure you negotiate the price...Cheers.
