Glad your son is ok now it must have been a worrying time. My son (married with kids) came home from a conference in Bangkok with 2 days R & R in Phuket on Saturday... worse for wear.
He too had had a jet ski accident but in the sea. It's the wet season and the waves are ferocious, but they still let the jet ski's out. 3 of them stacked, one almost drowned, another with # ribs and my son was carted off to hospital in the middle of the night as when he was thrown he landed on the jet ski hitting both right left and left ankle (lucky he didn't hit his head) Limo driver who look him to the hospital was got out of bed and he wanted to take him elsewhere to get 'laid' first. Limited facilities at Phuket hospital, antiquated x-ray. Told to elevate for flight home next day. Thai Airways were great but Qantas didn't give a rats arse and gave him a bulk head seat which had less room than a normal seat. He been to hospital and was given a thorough check up... he had a DVT late last year so his accident may not have helped matters (neither did the cramped flight home) so was given precautionary jab and is off for a scan today.
Bloody Jet skis... I hate them. Rant over.
Cheers Geri
