Just back after 26 days and most tips were from 5000 - 20000rps which is not much but you would think they just one the lottery the way they were all so greatful, taxi drivers would wait and hope you come back out where ever you shop just to drive you and a chance of a few extra rupees, we gave our favs 50,000rps whenever we left a hotel. Not rich but they they all kept saying when are the aussies coming back, and this was during the school holidays, which is the busiest time for them, heartbreaking.
