Last month stayed at the MBR, arranged accom over there as arrived 4 days before hubbie and 3 kids, checked out the rooms first then booked, the new section is lovely but I preferred the older hotel rooms as they were more roomy, got 2 interconnecting rooms, on the ground floor in front of the pool, this gives you 2 bathrooms and 2 TV's. paid $60/n per room extra bed in kids room got free, breakfast was also included. Stayed here instead of KP as I like the area better, closer to the legian part where I have fav restaurants and shops.
Another option is only book a couple of nights then arrange longer time when there and bargin, saw a german fellow do this and he end up getting the room half the price that he had paid from home.
Another great hotel at Legian is the Rama Garden, not on the beach front but only 50m walk to the beach, close to everything, no interconnecting rooms but there set up like townhouses, we had the bottom and the kids the top, they also have DVD's at no charge in the room so the kids were fine checking these out as well, rooms have fridge, Tea/coffee facilities bath/shower, 2 comfy chairs, very clean, king beds and proper single beds for the kids, also all rooms face the nice big pool, much quieter, but I would pick this one over the others, Paid 300,000rps per room per night included basic breakfast. Paid credit card and had no problems, no charge for late check out 8pm but only kept one room.
