The jungle space in Jln 66 on the right going to the beach was the Garden hotel - never rebuilt
years ago.
The front part of the hotel is original but the rooms at the back were rebuilt and really are not too bad. The pools,however are original.
Never forget that day. The fire engines couldn't really get close as they couldn't get round the corner where the Kamala Pantai is now.
They were all Alang Alang roofed then and burning embers drifted everywhere starting more fires and one house, around 1k away went up too.
One 11 year old Balinese girl died in the fire
