renting a villa. Just find a reputable agent or deal directly with the owner. We found our place on the internet and it's always a gamble as you're never really sure what you'll get. It's probably best if someone can recommend a villa they have stayed in before. It seems though that you do have to pay more than you would at a hotel (or at least the budget hotels I usually stay in) but it's nice to spoil yourself once in a while.
