You will never ever know if you never ever go, is perhaps the answer you should give. Yes I know I cheated, I used more than one word.
But my one word is "Kaleidoscope" - a swiftly changing scene, pattern etc -
Bemos, palm trees, bintang, shopping, surf, ceremonies, nasi-goring, bartering, traditional dress, taksi, hot springs, kids in crispy clean school uniforms, Kintamani, people in bars, sitting by the pool, bali belly oh no cross that one out, rasberry cordial.
I'm sure there are lots more and this forum is the right place to find that special one word you are looking for.
