from what I hear Shaz Perth was recently looked after very well by Sanglah hospital & the Australian consulate staff all speak very highly of the place. The International wing & Intensive care unit - from what I heard Shaz referred to it as being like the 5 star hotel section of the hospital.
Naturally it would be horrible to be stuck in there or be sick enough that you had to go there but if anyone was bad enough healthwise I reckon that this would be the best place to be in Bali.I presume they would probably have better facilties & more experienced staff than either SOS or BIMC.
From what numeous expats friends have told us,if you were really critically ill then the best thing if at all possible would be to get to a Darwin or Singapore hospital ASAP.I think the main thing would be is to make sure before you left would be to have full insurance cover & check if you have any pre-existing conditions that they were covered. Also ensure constant communciation was kept up with the insurance comnpany.
