Just arrived home from Bali, trip No. 15. Had a very smooth flight over with Garuda and passed through immigration etc very quickly.
Stayed at Kartika Plaza Hotel in a ground floor pool view room, interconnecting with a room for our daughters aged 15 and 11. Hotel beautiful, couldn't fault it. In fact probably one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Breakfast's too were excellent.
Most of the day we stayed around the pool although we did have a browse around Discovery Plaza. First night we stayed in and had a meal at one of the theme dinners. Food was very nice.
Next morning I was met by Wayan from Bali Sourcing and checked out furniture etc as we are currently building a new house. Found a great factory who are going to custom make a house full of furniture for us, even a fabric chaise lounge suite for our theatre room. Also getting a beautiful leather bed and ottoman. Went to Bali Stone and ordered a lot of water fountains, pots, lights etc.
Looked at marble flooring and was so impressed at the price, we have decided to buy marble for most of the house. Also ordered pavers and pebbles, outdoor furniture and lighting. Bali Sourcing are going to organise for a 20ft container to leave in December for us, ready for our new house in finish early Feb. All in all a very productive day, and very exciting.
That evening had a beautiful dinner at The Living Room with the family. Dinner and dessert were so nicely presented, we took photos.
Day 3 started with a massage at Kartika, one hour for 100,000R, good value and the massage was beautiful. Rest of the day we spent at Discovery Plaza and ordered a leather jacket for myself from French Leather, who I have been going to for years, in Garlic Lane. Shopped for our usual stock up with Miss Debbys, so much easier with the fixed pricing. We then went to Mataharis to get our make-up and in the Supermarket we bought all our Loreal and Olay, a third of the price here in Perth.
My husband and I left the kids at the hotel and went to Queen's Tandoor for dinner, probably the best indian I have ever tasted.
Day 4 we went to Water Bomb Park. Kids had a ball. The new slide is awesome, a little scarey tho. Had a massage in the Spa, very dark with beautiful music playing, it was sooo good I fell asleep and woke up thinking it had only been 10 mins instead of an hour. Pissed off! Back to the hotel for happy hour and then went to Ma Jolly for dinner, a must do, it is absolutely beautiful and the food, as usual was delicious.
Day 5 Wayan From Bali Sourcing picked me up again, this time I brought my husband and kids along. Must say Wayan was very patient. It was a rainy overcast day so thank goodness the kids didn't whinge to get back to the pool. I took my husband back to Bali Stone to check out what I had previously ordered. Met Felicia and Leo, the owners and got along really well with Felicia, she invited us back to her beautiful house and we met her two very sweet daughters and her tribe of dogs. Added a lot more furniture and items to the container and had a heap of fun doing it.
All very tired from the day so we went to Cafe Batan Waru, just up the road from Discovery and had a beautiful Indonesian meal and half price cocktails.
Day 6 my eldest daughter and I walked almost to Seminyak all the way up Jalan Legian and Jalan Seminyak. Bought a few nice items of clothing from Zenergy, my favourite top for singlets and pants. Also bought necklaces, few shoes etc along the way. Found a beautiful shop for mirrors, and added them to the container. That night we had a beautiful dinner at La Lucciola, the risotto is to die for. My husband always has the snapper pie which he loves.
Day 7 our last day. Had a facial and massage at Kartika, did all our DVD shopping and last minute bits and pieces. Popped over to Galleria to the Vinotti shop there and bought some linen, wooded framed pictures and bits and pieces as they were having a 50% off sale. Had a great club sandwick and mie goreng by the pool for lunch and our last swim and left to go to airport at 7.40pm for our flight home. Thank goodness no delays.
Very sad to leave once again. I'm going back in December to check the furniture thats being made and add some curtaining and napery and bits and pieces from Geneva to the container, so it won't be too long a wait until next time.
I did find the weather definitely not as hot on previous occasions and even needed a long sleeved shirt for the evenings. Only went into the pool a couple of times, coz I'm one of these people that needs to feel real hot to go in.
Another fantastic holiday, hope I didn't bore you.
