Many guests that had rooms on the 2nd level, felt the tremor. It was supposed to have been underground somewher near Sumutra. No damage done in Bali...just a tremor.Yes MBR is near the beach. I felt safe at all times...even when told that I had slept thru a tremor. Some people felt the tremor and others didn't.
