Things in Bombay got back to normal a little over 4 hours after the seven blasts. Trains were running normally again by 10.30 pm, the first blast having taken place at 6.24 pm. on the 11th of July, 2006.
Partly, the people didn't have a choice but to use the same trains, as before, partly there is this strong desire to show those cowardly terrorists that Bombay can't be cowed down. Bombay's public is now getting more involved in even aspects like security as there is a growing realisation that the politicians will do sweet f.all
We may get bombed again and again but rest assured we will come back stronger. No one, I repeat, no one, will defeat us. We have realised belatedly that if we want to live our normal peaceful, happy lives, we've got to be vigilant and strong.
Thanks very much for asking, Hillary. Yes, indeed, this is a Bali board and so I will sign off with the common Balinese/Indian chant:-
Om, shanti, shanti, shanti, shanti, om !!!
