Ubud accomodation can be a bit tricky, some of the nicer places are often far out of the centre so its a bit of give and take.
There are some very pricey places in Ubud that I havent stayed at, but I have stayed at several from budget to first class. The hotel tjamphuan may suit your needs. They have 2 pool areas and the beds were large. On my first stay our room had 2 king size beds!! The only down fall for this hotel for you and a 2 year old is that there are lots of steps as is it is set on a hill side. Ubud village is very central and flat, but the pool area is smaller. Ananda cottages is much further out and has a small pool but good gardens etc for him to romp around in. hope this helps.
