the calling cards in the past [as mentioned on a thread further down]. Main problem I have found with Bali is when calling a mobile, often the lines drop out or aren't great.
I put someone else onto these calling cards last year and she too found them very frustrating.
The rates when calling landlines in Jakarta in particular are excellent, and you can recharge them by credit card over the phone when you run out of credit.
They are definitely worth a try for people who have a need to call overseas frequently and want to keep costs down.
