We stayed at AKK in Oct 2005. We had a standard room on the ground floor near the small pool. We thought it was probably on the expensive side for $ value, and found the bathroom quite tired.
We found the staff to be very helpful but we did have a problem getting them to understand what we needed each time we requested something. They were very hesitant to let our balinese friend in to visit us and I guess you can understand that seeing it was 2 weeks after bombing but hadnt encountered this type of problem at other resorts when he had visited. We also had big problems using credit card to pay the money we owed at end of visit. Had problems with phone and could not use phone in room to ring back to Aust without experiencing big problems on each occasion.
Agree with comments about being dark when walking home to AKK after eating out etc in Legian or Padma St, actually found it quite scary at times.
Overall we thought it would be a nice place for a honeymoon couple but probably wouldnt stay there again as you can find better value for money elsewhere. Having said that we moved to AKK from Padma and thought the AKK was 150% on Padma eg rooms better, service better.
