I can understand your fears as I am taking my 2, 4 and 6 year olds next week. While many things do cross my mind, i swiftly send them to the back of my mind as I know how much the children will gain from the experience and how wonderfully the balinese treat them. They are going to have an absolute ball.
AS far as avian Flu, Dont worry about it, As far as I am aware Bali hasnt had an outbreak (I could be wrong) and while birds are pretty frequent in Bali, common sense and not patting the brightly coloured chicks or touching the many roosters and you shosuld be fine.
As for Tsunami's Well this is a risk on any continent. Here in Australia it could easily happen. You cannot spend your time worrying about natural disasters that can but most likely wont occur. Your own country has had its fair share of natural disasters these past couple years, nowhere is completely and utterly safe, Nowhere....
Your daughter will absolutely LOVE bali and you yourself will also have a great time. All these fears will be long forgotten once you step off the airplane and the humidity and smells hit you.....
