yeh, speaking of car hire, we are hiring one next weekend, they are dearer tho than in Bali, we usually hire a KIJANG year 2000 model for 300 thousand per day (fuel not included), if you hire it for one week, you pay for 6 days and get the 7th free... this is without driver (my fiancee is indonesian so he drives)
You just ring up the guy, and make a booking... they will bring the car to you and pick it up as well. If your late bringing it back a couple of hours its no worries. They even deliver in the middle of the night at 1am.. cuz thats when my boyfriends shift finishes.

We have been using this guy for the last 3 years, if you have any problems with the car, you can get another, again they'll come to you.. we've used their services twice now for 12 hours drives to Jogja from Jakarta... and no problems whatsoever
he's really nice, but im not sure he can speak english :) hehehe..
