Sparrow at Northbridge is very authentic & cheap. Very popular so book - it's hard to beat. Small serves with small prices so you can try lots of things. The best I think. Worth going over the bridge for but it's very much bums on seats - not a place to linger.

In Myaree is Djimbaran Bali - used to go there frequently but they put the prices up for their very small serves - we feel it's no longer good value, especially for seafood. Disliked the weird cavern decor, too - claustrophobic.

In Bentley there is Bali Modern which we haven't yet tried (highly recommended on this Forum) - they re-open this Wed after being closed for a while due to family problems in Bali - looks like a good menu - google for it.

Tried Makan Makan at Vic Park recently - won't bother again.

For Malaysian/Indon food try the Bibik Chan's restaurants (again google for the menu), great satays & rendangs. There's one at Canning Bridge - gotta book. Also Mahsuri Satay in Vic Park for Indon/Malaysian - best satay by far & fab rendang.

Our local Collins Road food area in Willetton has great cheap food, especially Taurus Hawkers, more Singapore/Chinese tho, but well worth trying - no frills.

Probably forgot somewhere.

Selamat makan.
