at Ryan being treated here, everyone was very professional and took great care of him. In the beginning the insurance doctors tried to convince me to have him moved to Darwin and suggested that treatment was below standard here. I was more worried about airlifting him with internal bleeding, and the possibility of things going wrong in transit. Also I had support here from my fiance who is Indonesian, so if I did not understand what the medical staff were saying he was able to explain it to me. In Darwin I would have had no one with me except for my other son, who was feeling pretty bad as his jetski hit his brother and caused the injury.
BTW Ryan was discharged yesterday, and is pretty much back to normal. The first thing he did was go to McDonalds for lunch!! Since then he has been shopping and just enjoying being out of hospital. He goes back Wednesday to have his stitches out.
