We were trying to find a Bal Hindu Orphanage , East end of Singaraja.
Hopelessly lost until we picked up the clues. A few kids with gobs full of Chuppa Chups. A few more on the next block with even more sticking out shirt pockets. That we were hot on the trail blazed by the intrepid Filibuster Filo was borne out by the next Polisi Person whom we met in mid suck: he pointed to a narrow street almost covered in evidence of Chuppa Chup gorging by a large amount of people. We crunched our way along this trail until we found our targeted Panti Asuhan.

This was a first in many ways.
We dropped a couple of cases of the usual and declined the Head Master's offer to hand out things individually; not our scene.
We asked;
Do you have a Sewing Machine? 'Yes we have two already thank you.'
OK for rice and other foods? 'We're well catered for at the moment thanks' and points to donors'/donations book.
What do you actually need, at the moment. 'Mostly tooth-paste and other personal hygiene items'

Off we went and made the local Deli very happy indeed. Returned to pick up the one empty case we needed back, signed the book and away to the cheers of the beaming kids.

This has been the most straight-forward Panti Asuhan we have found, seemingly honest to the letter. Future help will certainly be directed to them with joy.

'Thinks I', "Wonder if the SOS for tooth paste had anything to do with a recent over-dose of Chuppa Chups?".

Well done Trail Blazer Filo, both of us guided by the inimitable Richard of Rambutan Cottages, who has been looking after these people for some time.

More later.
