Sorry monicac, but I have to correct you on something. Bali is not surrounded by an "angry extremist culture". Most Indonesian Muslims are every bit as peaceful, gentle and welcoming as the Balinese. They are appalled by terrorist violence in exactly the same as we are. It is a VERY small minority that fall in to extemist category. Try visiting Yogyakarta, Jakarta or elsewhere in Indonesia and you will pleasantly surprised at the way you are treated and welcomed by Indonesians.
