- the Bali Barat National Park. A well known guide here is Bali Bluey. If you're staying at Rambutan Cottages the owner Richard will be able to put you in touch with him directly or through a mutual friend.
In the south consider the Balihai Resort in Tuban. Two pools, right on the beach (not even a road to cross), pool bar, two restuarants with very good food, friendly management and staff, nice gardens. Quieter than Legian/Seminyak but only a Rp5,000 taxi ride into the centre of mayhem. Local shopping and eating (especially along the beach front) is good. There is a drivers Bale just by the front entrance to the hotel.
