Week 2

Two sisters and myself (me on Standby) - Marion (49), Helen (41) & me (44) (Angela).

Moved down to the Ramada at Tuban today. Boy it was tiring moving 5 k down the road, so much so that couldn't make it out to dinner tonight as we were all in our pyjamas drinking cocktails in bed at 6.30pm - also we did have to be up and about early the next morning for The Mad Chatters Tea Party.

We were picked up bright and early on the Saturday morning at Dynasty for our trip up to Crackers Bar & Grill. Two full busloads which was a great turn out, pity the weather wasn't a bit clearer and it actually got a bit chilly up the top. Had a lovely Aussie burger and a sit on the loo at crackers (not at the same time of course), before having a look around the markets. Reiki (Jacqui) I must tell you that after haggling so hard for the Silver Clove Cream we saw it everywhere after here and at a cheaper price. Also my sister haggled hard over the ginger tea, she ended up paying 20,000 rup and of course saw it at all the supermarkets after this for 5,000 oh well such is life. It was great to meet quite a few forumites, ie inmyblood, reiki, Sir Fin, SueL and many others. Thank you Jacqui for organising this and also thanks to David & Moira at whose restaurant we had a lovely meal at on the way back.

On one of the nights we went looking for our little place on Poppies 1 that have the super cheap cocktails by the jug. Could not find it the first time, so ended up going somewhere else. On another night we were determined to go to TJ's on Poppies 1 and while heading there stumbled across this little place called Bali Agung (sort of looked familiar - Last year it was called Bali Asi). Well this was the place and 6 jugs, and 4 entrees later we stumbled out - What a fantastic night and all for 125,000 rup. Oh and by the way we never made it to TJ's.

Enjoyed my massages once again from the lovely Wayan at Jepun Bali (little alleyway next to Ramada) - one hour for 66,000 rup.

Other things covered this week were trip to Supernova for Martha Tillar products, DVD's from H*!.., meeting the lovely Sue (drommaniac) and her hubby & kids at breakfast, albeit briefly.

One highlight was watching the soccer (Aust. V Japan) with about six other Aussies in what we later found out was a Japanese restaurant - they were very gracious in defeat as I am sure we would have been. Afterwards (and where else could you do this) jumped in a cab with these other Aussies and down to Paddys Bar for a wee dance.

Was going to organise a cooking class at Sate Bali but had the wrong number and my Indonesian isn't good enough to make out what the new one was. So maybe next time. As it turned out it was a good thing I didn't as I had a phone call telling me to go home that night as plane next night was totally booked.

So my trip back to Melbourne was now via Sydney. I paid the 100,000 to go into one of those lounges and totally relaxed for a couple of hours until I was called 10 minutes before boarding. Stood up most of the way home as I have twitchy legs.

Finally arrived at Sydney International Airport and had left myself two and a half hours to catch plane to Melbourne (well didn't make it). Stepped off planed to awaiting buses to take us to terminal. The first bus had just pulled out and I was the first person on the second bus, bewdy I thought as I would be first off, wrong bus opens up the other way at the other end and I am last off..... Into terminal and told to go to carousel one to pick up luggage, get there and no luggage, announcement of sorry there has been a mistake can you please go to carousel 10 (other end of bloody airport). Then to top it all off customs took a liking to me and wanted to search all my bags - nothing in them of course. Finally make it out and then have to wait half and hour and $4.50 later to take bus from International to Domestic. Missed the 9.00 flight and make one for a bit later. Finally around about 12.00 I am home.

Thanks everyone for reading and any questions, please ask or e-mail me.
