all, in fact I have just spent the last two months in Bali with my four year old son and we had a ball.
Admittedly I was staying in a resort that caters to children very well!! So most days he would go to the kids club there and be highly entertained by both the staff and what they did!!!
The Balinese think children are holy and will do basically everything for them and the younger they are, the more revered they seem to be!!!
Actually I think the kids are spoilt rotten by them and get away with murder, but then again, too much love can never really hurt anyone.
Jordy has learnt a plethora of new names, that he would never hear of anywhere else, he has learnt to say thank you and how are you in balinese, he's learnt to swim, just from being in the pool every day not only on this trip but other previous trips. He eats food that he would never get to eat in Australia, mainly because my partner doesnt like asian food, so I dont cook it often, on occasions but not often, even though I would like to.
What else, oh yea, i LOVE the fact that we dont need a kiddies seat in the back or seat belts for that matter, I feel completely safe driving in a taxi or with a driver and not wearing a seat belt, but I guess that is for you to wrestle with, I dont even have a problem with my babysitter (whom we've known for a few years), taking Jordy on her motorbike, standing on the front like most balinese kids do. In fact he loves it, and he is in no way, an outgoing kid, but I think even he knows that he is somewhere special and feels alot free-er than at home.
