I disagree, it's very central but also quite. yes occasionally a rooster goes off but that can happen anywhere in bali. The last 2 times i stayed there I heard no rooster!
It's a GREAT hotel connected to the lotus pond and main temple, it's on the palace grounds.
Their web site is up and down but you can usually just arrive and negotiate
I love it, it really is special..
It has an upstairs room that over looks the whole temple/ pond complex.
I've read many good reviews about the Tegal sari also but everyone has there faves and mine is the Puri Saraswati
So you get a free show while sitting on your verandah eating take out from the nearby Japanese restaurant (well thats what I do)
