why are u actually moving here? if you are looking to get a job after you get here, good luck. i did this, and wasnt really successful until after about 6 months. then i finally found a company that agreed to hire and sponsor me.
If its a good company they will do all the "paperwork" for you... to get a yearly work permit it costs about 1200 USD.. and which would probably work out to be about 15million, after fees for the agent etc etc in dealing with immigration and the like, smaller companies usually work this way, for example its the process most English Teachers have to go thru when they come here.
sure you can try to work "secretly" say with private lessons etc (after say entering with a tourist visa) ...but its a huge risk, you never really know who your dealing with, and they can easily report u to the authories..then its bye bye to you, and you'll be deported quick smart... and probably have to pay a lot of money in the process.
However, if you are coming for a job which has already been lined up by a particular company, your company will probably have all the paperwork done and expenses paid before u get here, which then will probably let you enter indonesia directly with a business visa (u might have to stop over in singapore a couple of days to get the correct visas put in your passport beforehand. this is usually the way the large multinational companies work, say, Oil, Coal Mining companies etc etc.
anyway more questions feel free to ask me.
