Back from Bali on Thursday after spending 2 weeks at the Ramayana. I went with my sister and my daughter. My daughter Melanie only stayed 1 week but my sister and I stayed on a week more. So we all left from Perth AA. Direct flight to Bali. Arrived about 10 pm which was 1 day gone, but still we were there. Ramayana picked us up. We were reasonably quick getting through Customs etc. but when you are anxious to get through, don't you always get in the wrong queue.!! So back to the hotel which the new lobby renovations are now completed and it all looks lovely. They are now working on the new restaurant which should be gorgeous when all finished. It looks like a big renovation, 2 storey. I got up every morning and did my walk along the beach. Got up at 6.30 each morning and walked for about 1 hour. Its gorgeous that time and lots of people, jogging, walking, playing surfing etc. on the beach. Then go back, get cleaned up, get the other 2 up and go and have breakfast. For the first week we ate in the Stadium Cafe whilst the renovation is taking place. Quite a good breakfast. I rang our friend and driver Ketut and he took us to our first stop Macro. If anyone wants to use him, he is great, speaks good English and is good fun (and he and his daughter came to Waterbom Park as well, which was good for interpreting!!
We got our usual things, snacks, drinks etc. and bought lots of fruit and cabbages for the Orphanage that I help out and always take the kids out. More on the Waterbom Park Day a bit later. Almost there, and already, my sister says, I have to go to loo. I said oh no, the toilets at the orphanage are yuk to say the least, but nature doesn't wait and she has to go. Not very pleasant, but at least relieved ha ha. I arranged with the director of the orphanage for me to take some children to Waterbom Park. He said thats fine, so all arranged for Sunday the 1st July. So after that was arranged, I got in touch with the people who wanted to come along and help out for the day i.e. LynneD and her daughter Ebony (hope that is right Lynne) Midnight Oil (Arlene and Mike and their son Charlie) KayC (Kay and husband Ian) and Baliku (Karen) was going to meet us at the beach. So was all arranged to meet at 10 am. Went to Waterbom Park and spoke to the Sales Event Manager who gave me a good deal which included lunch, drink and ice cream.
We love the Ramayana (we stayed there last year as well) in a deluxe room, overlooking the garden area. The rooms are quite spacious and we had 3 single beds. In room safe which is so good to have. Bathrooms are fine, hair dryer and tea and coffee facilities. It is a great location, just over the road from Kuta Art Markets, Matahari and lots of restaurants around the place. Hope I am not boring anyone Part 2 coming up
