We are paying more for everything in Bali this trip. Kids come with me and that doesnt help I try to haggle and my son is there saying - mum you are arguing over a couple of dollars just pay the lady, however the price is still more than i paid last year - Tshirts 25,000 - 30,000, sarongs 25,000 - 30,000, everything seems more even without the kids. Market people just wont come down, I bought flat glitter sandles at Ubud 20,000 were offered others 15,000 and in Kuta they wouldnt come down from 40,000 (which is what i paid for good quality black soled sandles in bud). Everyone on forum seems to still get things at same price it must be me...
I know things are tough. I looked along a long line of storekeepers at Kuta today and felt like crying as i knew a wasnt going to buy something from each one. They all looked so sad. I paid more at each stall than i knew i had to and at one gave her a bit more as she spoke about getting rice for her family.
Saw Smudge today and offloaded clothes for kids and also samples from hotels - shampoo, soap sugar etc, which he said would be great extra thing for kids - something to think of keeping for them while you are over here.
Saw blue sky today - hey - unfortunately daughter down with travels trots and could not go to Waterbom park - hoepfully tomorrow.
